Guy Ortoleva is a Video Producer and Editor on the Teaching Studios team. He produces online courses, records classes and events, edits a variety of projects, and coordinates Yale YouTube channel. With 25 years of experience in producing documentaries, corporate video training, and TV news magazines, he brings a depth of technical and creative storytelling knowledge to the Poorvu Center. Guy also developed and taught workshops on various facets of video production, copyright law, and licensing and was an adjunct faculty member at Quinnipiac University and Southern CT State University. He is excited about the nexus of people and resources in the Poorvu Center for Teaching and Learning and in supporting Yale’s mission of educational excellence.
Guy has a JD from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law and was Executive Director of the Connecticut Film, Video, and Media Office, responsible for economic assistance to in-state media companies and bringing feature films and television programs into the state. Guy received the Linda K. Lorimer Award for Distinguished Service for his work on Yale’s 2020 Virtual Commencement Week.
Outside of Yale, Guy enjoys hiking, fishing, and recording stories from veterans.
