Jerry Xu is a Second-Year PhD student in Chemistry. His research focuses on the surface chemistry of porous silicon and the production of solar fuels. Jerry graduated in 2023 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with degrees in Biology and Chemistry (Highest Honors, Phi Beta Kappa). He is passionate about education and has had extensive experience in pedagogical roles. At Yale and as a McDougal Graduate Teaching Fellow, he hopes to promote a positive learning environment and looks forward to working with students and instructors from all departments.
