Kristina Sanchez is the Associate Director in the Poorvu Center’s Digital Education team. Currently her main role is in supporting the Yale School of the Environment with their online course offerings. Kristina advises online programs on using Canvas, leveraging her experience as a former member of the Educational Technology team. With her expertise in instructional design, Kristina provides technical and pedagogical support in collaboration with faculty to achieve teaching and learning objectives using appropriate and emerging technologies. She is particularly interested in the impact of technology on student learning outcomes and how it can enhance the educational experience. At Poorvu, Kristina also supports the Rosenkranz Award for Pedagogical Advancement. Kristina has been at Yale since 2016.
Before joining Yale, Kristina was the Director of the Language Learning Center at the University of Oklahoma and an Instructional Technologist at the Yale School of Management. She earned her degree in foreign language education from the University of Oklahoma and pursued a Master’s in Instructional Psychology and Technology to further her interest in educational technology.
Outside of work, Kristina enjoys distance running and visiting her family in Texas. As a transplant to New Haven, she loves exploring what New England has to offer. Her favorite spot on Yale’s campus is the Grove Street Cemetery.
