Headshot of Lucas Swineford, Executive Director, Digital Education at the Poorvu Center

Lucas Swineford

Executive Director, Digital Education
I provide digital education leadership and help shape the strategic priorities of the Poorvu Center.

Lucas Swineford serves the Executive Director for Digital Education at the Poorvu Center, where his teams drive the integration of technology and media to achieve the Center’s mission-driven goals. Their work impacts Yale faculty, Yale students, and millions of global learners. Lucas is proud of the support and leadership his teams provided to the campus community during the pandemic and their visionary work creating groundbreaking online courses that have increased access to Yale’s exceptional faculty.

As one of the founding leaders of the Poorvu Center in 2014, Lucas values the opportunity to build this organization alongside inspiring and wonderful colleagues, marking it as the highlight of his professional journey.

Before arriving at Yale in 2007, Lucas held digital media leadership positions at World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), the XFL, and the United States Tennis Association (USTA). At WWE, he created their first website, led advancements in online video streaming, and even found himself as a backstage interviewer asking “hard-hitting” questions to the performers. Thankfully, at the USTA, he managed to stay off the court with tennis legends like Roger Federer.

Outside of work Lucas loves running, is an unapologetic audiobook listener, and enjoys being with his family, especially when they’re at the Jersey Shore.
