Meena Venkataramanan is pursuing a law degree at Yale Law School alongside a PhD in English literature at Brown University. Her doctoral research is situated at the intersection of contemporary Asian and Black diaspora literature, particularly in the United Kingdom, Anglophone Caribbean, and United States. She is also a book critic, journalist, and essayist who writes about identity, culture, and race. Her work has been published in the Washington Post, the Los Angeles Times, the Boston Globe, and the Los Angeles Review of Books, among other outlets. She earned a BA in English from Harvard University and an MPhil in English from the University of Cambridge, where she studied as a Gates Cambridge Scholar.
