| Niv is a 4th year doctoral candidate in History of Science & Medicine, with a graduate certificate in Ethnicity, Race & Migration. Her research connects disability studies with South Asian American history, and analyzes South Asian diasporic women’s experiences of chronic pain and illness as evidence of the sedimentation of racism, colonialism, and heteropatriarchal violence on the body. She holds a BS in Computer Science and History from Caltech. As someone who often struggles with writer’s block and who has experimented widely to develop a sustainable writing habit, Niv particular enjoys supporting graduate colleagues develop writing practices that work with the brilliantly rich needs of their minds, bodies, and lives. |
