Reed Mszar is a third-year PhD candidate in the Department of Chronic Disease Epidemiology at the Yale School of Public Health. His research focuses on cardio-oncology and the intersection between cardiovascular disease and cancer. Reed graduated from Bates College (2018) with a B.S. in Biochemistry and Sociology and holds master’s degrees in Chronic Disease Epidemiology from the Yale School of Public Health (2020) and in Physiology & Biophysics from Georgetown University (2022). Reed has been a teaching fellow for different epidemiology and public health courses, and has served in various professional development capacities both at Yale and the Center for Purposeful Work at Bates College. This coming year, he looks forward to supporting students planning on teaching in the sciences and who are seeking to integrate fundamental active learning frameworks in their own teaching experiences.
