Shannon is a 5th-year PhD candidate in the Pathology and Molecular Medicine Program, where she investigates how EGFR (Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor)-driven lung cancers develop resistance to standard therapies and works to identify new ways to target resistant tumors. She earned her B.S. in Biology from the University of Massachusetts - Amherst. Originally from Peabody, Massachusetts (yes, the same Peabody as the Yale Peabody Museum), and she swears there’s a right way to say it - locals know what she means! Shannon has experience preparing NIH F31 grant applications, securing funding for research tools, and crafting personal statements for professional development opportunities. She enjoys collaborating to help others strengthen their applications and refine their writing.
