Shefali Gauri Das is a first-generation Indian American dramedy writer and singer-songwriter based in New York. She is a 4th year Ph.D. student in Film and Media Studies and Black Studies at Yale University, and earned her B.A. in African American Studies and Political Economy from the University of California at Berkeley. Her research focuses on American DOD funded military film and state propaganda. Shefali loves the writing process, and always looks forward to editing hers and her friends’ work, in any capacity – from op-eds to academic research, creative writing to poetry, the process of writing is something that she is deeply passionate about. When she’s not working, you can find her baking (well), hiking (passably) or painting (badly).
