Yanixa is a 7th year PhD student in Genetics and a NIH Ruth L. Kirschstein NRSA F31 predoctoral fellowship recipient. Her thesis work seeks to dissect the molecular and phenotypical differences of KRAS variants in cancer. Yanixa obtained her BS in Biology with an emphasis in Genetics and Biomedicine from the University of Puerto Rico in Aguadilla. As a GWL Fellow, she is eager to help fellow graduate students develop their grantsmanship, science communication and technical writing skills.
