Yanixa is an 8th year PhD student in Genetics and a former NIH Ruth L. Kirschstein NRSA F31 predoctoral fellow. Her thesis work seeks to dissect the molecular and phenotypical differences of KRAS mutants in cancer. She earned her B.S. in Biology with a dual emphasis in Genetics and Biomedicine from the University of Puerto Rico in Aguadilla. As a GWL Fellow, she enjoys engaging with other students’ research and is excited to encourage and support them as they grow their grantsmanship, science communication, and technical writing abilities.
