Syllabus (Re)Design

Bringing instructors together to design or redesign a syllabus.

Overview

Syllabus (Re)Design is a day-long interactive workshop in which Yale instructors consider the overall course design process through the lens of their syllabus: backward design, learning outcomes, assessments, and activities in and beyond class. Participants will have the opportunity to work in small groups and individually on their own syllabus for an upcoming or a future course. Questions the workshop consider include: What do I want my students to know and be able to do by the end of this course? What types of assessment will best demonstrate what students have learned? What combination of in- and out-of-class activities will create a rigorous, engaging, inclusive and transformative learning experience?

Syllabus (Re)Design 2025 will be August 13, 9am - 4pm

Consider coming to Blank Canvas the next day!

The day after Syllabus (Re)Design (August 14) a one-day Blank Canvas: Create Your Course Site workshop will demonstrate instructional design, provide templates, and leave time for building course sites. Details and registration.
