Online Teaching Tools and Resources

This annotated list of free online resources for language faculty includes tools to help students record video and audio, create multi-media presentations, annotate texts, collaborate on classroom projects, and connect with classrooms across the globe.

This page contains a list of resources for language teachers to use in their classrooms:

  1. Teaching Tools - a list of tools that can be used for creating and editing technology-enhanced tasks, activities, and materials for language learning.

  • Conversations: a tool for recording questions for students to answer them asynchronously
  • Mashups: a great tool that allows for combining video, audio, text, and interactive exercises
  • QuizBreak!: a flexible program for creating fun language games
  • Revisions: a platform that supports process writing
  • Scribbles: a tool for handwriting practice online
  • SMILE: a tool for creating interactive language-practice exercises
  • Video Dropbox: a dropbox for students’ video recordings that can be put on any webpage
  • Viewpoint: an audio and video repository that allows for recording audio and video files online, or uploading existing media
  • Worksheets: interactive worksheets that allow for audio/video recording, multiple-choice and matching questions, etc.
