The Poorvu Center offers semester-long faculty learning communities to support community and reflection around teaching practices through the sharing of strategies and resources. The learning communities convene every 2-3 weeks throughout the semester and are tailored to the needs of the group. For those participating in the Faculty Teaching Academy for new faculty, attending 5 out of 6 sessions fulfills the learning community component.

Spring 2024 Learning Communities:

For the Spring 2024 we will only be hosting the STEM (Science, Techonlogy, Engineering, and Mathematics) Learning Community, which will focus on teaching in these fields. It will meet Fridays 11:15am-12:15pm on the following dates:

• February 16 (virtual)
• March 1 (virtual)
• March 8 (virtual)
• April 5 (virtual)
• April 19 (in-person)
