FeedbackFruits: Group Member Evaluation

The FeedbackFruits Group Member Evaluation tool is a robust peer feedback activity type in the FeedbackFruits tool suite available for academic course sites in Canvas @ Yale. The Group Member Evaluation tool allows instructors to create an activity that walks students through the process of providing their peers feedback using a pre-defined rubric from the instructor on their group soft-skills and behaviors.

Tool Removal Notice

Access to create and use all FeedbackFruits tools will be removed at the end of the Fall 2025 semester in December. If you are currently using a FeedbackFruits tool, please use the Fall 2025 semester to begin migrating your content out of FeedbackFruits to a different tool we have integrated with Canvas.

Full FeedbackFruits Tool Suite Not Available

Yale University has officially licensed the FeedbackFruits Peer Review, Group Member Evaluation, Interactive Document / Video, and Discussion on Work tools for use in Canvas @ Yale academic course sites.

A non-exhaustive list outlining what instructors can use the FeedbackFruits Group Member Evaluation tool to facilitate include:

  • Students providing a self assessment of their skills prior to reviewing their peers
  • Allowing students to provide anonymous feedback to their peers on their group participation and skills
  • Collecting and distributing student feedback on their peers and assigning a built in reflection activity to encourage student accountability in reading / considering feedback they received
  • Develop student skills in reading, writing, and accepting feedback from others
