What does it mean to teach responsibly, effectively, and/or ethically in an increasingly AI-saturated world? How can AI tools augment or impede our teaching and our students’ learning, and what do we need to know to have productive conversations about how and when to use (or not use) these tools? This four-part learning community will explore these questions by centering the (human) connections we make and maintain in our teaching practice—connections with our students, with our disciplines, with our communities, and with our own values as instructors. We’ll engage in these topics through readings, group discussions, and collaborative opportunities to build AI-fluent lesson plans and syllabus policies. We will meet on zoom on Weds, Sept 10, Sept 17, Sept 24, and Tues, Oct 7, and all AI experience-levels and perspectives are very welcome. Please reach out to Audrey Holt (audrey.holt@yale.edu) with any questions.
