Continuing from the fall semester, this session expands on the opportunity to enrich self-compassion practices. Participants will explore practical strategies derived from cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavior therapy to manage stress, decrease self-criticism, and support emotional resilience. The workshop will include interactive exercises, guided reflections, and small-group discussions to foster the development of self-compassion, balanced awareness, and a sense of common humanity within the academic environment. Dr. Jennifer McIntosh is facilitating this session in continuation of her work as a 2024-2025 Faculty Fellow. The Poorvu Center Faculty Fellows Program is a year-long opportunity for 1-2 faculty leaders from across disciplines to foster discussions on teaching and learning and promote equitable teaching practices.
