Perusall 101: Transforming Reading into Collaborative Learning

Thu Sep 18, 2025 11:00 a.m.—12:00 p.m.
Join us for an interactive workshop designed for instructors who are new to Perusall, a collaborative reading tool integrated within Canvas @ Yale. This session will introduce the core features of Perusall and demonstrate how it can transform traditional reading assignments into engaging, peer-driven discussions.

Participants will learn how to:
  •     Set up Perusall within Canvas
  •     Assign readings and configure settings
  •     Encourage student interaction through social annotation
  •     Monitor engagement and use analytics to inform instruction

Whether you're teaching literature, science, or social studies, Perusall helps foster deeper understanding and active participation. Built on research from Harvard University, the platform uses behavioral science and AI to motivate students to read, reflect, and connect—before they even enter the classroom.

No prior experience with Perusall is required—just bring your curiosity and a course you'd like to reimagine.
